Dr. Sykes, DVM

Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Sykes, a native of Houston County, TN, grew up with a passion for animals. After completing his undergraduate studies at Murray State, he pursued his veterinary education at UT Knoxville, CVM, graduating in 2004. With extensive experience in clinics across Clarksville, he specializes in Endoscopy and Laparoscopy. Dr. Sykes finds great joy in Ophthalmology, Small Animal Reproduction, and Canine Sports Medicine. As a member of AVMA, TVMA, and the American College of Theriogenology, he stays up-to-date with the latest advancements. Outside of work, Dr. Sykes cherishes his family time with his amazing wife, Emily, and their son, Brody. Their four dogs, Hazel Irene the perfect, Sy the Psychotic, Opal Bernice the beautiful, and Elsie Jane the baby, complete their loving household.

Meet Erin – Our Incredible Practice Manager!
Born and raised in Houston County, Erin has become an essential part of the Clarksville Animal Clinic family. Her journey with us has been nothing short of inspiring—through hard work, dedication, and a genuine passion for helping others, Erin has grown into her new role as Practice Manager. Whether she’s coordinating our team behind the scenes or greeting clients with her signature smile, Erin brings heart and leadership to everything she does. Outside the clinic, she loves spending time with her beloved heeler, Shroomie, catching up with friends and family, shopping for fun finds, and exploring new places whenever she gets the chance. We’re so proud to have Erin leading our team and continuing to elevate the level of care and service our clients know and love!

Micayla, LVMT

Head Technician

Meet Micayla – Our Compassionate Head Technician! Micayla is a dedicated and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician with a heart full of compassion for all animals. With a Bachelor of Science from Austin Peay, she brings both expertise and passion to our team. What truly sets Micayla apart is her ability to help anxious or aggressive pets feel safe and comfortable in what can often be a scary environment. Her calming presence and kind-hearted approach make a world of difference, especially for those who may be misunderstood. She believes in giving all animals, no matter their temperament, the care they deserve. Outside of the clinic, Micayla enjoys spending time with her friends and her two beloved pets, Oliver Honey and Lucifer Haze. Her deep love for animals extends beyond her professional life, and she’s always ready to offer her kindness and care to those in need. We’re incredibly fortunate to have Micayla’s expertise, patience, and passion as part of our team, ensuring that every pet receives the highest level of care.

Jess

Assistant

Say hello to Jess, our incredible assistant with 27 years of experience in the veterinary field! Originally from Nevada, she made Kentucky her home in 2020 along with her husband and two children. Since 1997, Jess has been caring for animals of all kinds, but her heart truly belongs to cats. She’s proud to be known as “The Cat Lady” and her four feline friends, Pikachu, Gypsy, Jonesy, and Beans, can vouch for that. But don’t worry, she also adores her big, goofy Black Lab, Sonny. When she’s not working, you’ll find Jess at the lake, enjoying boating, fishing, and quality time with her husband. She’s the perfect addition to our team!

Tatum

Assistant

Meet Tatum, one of our amazing assistants at Clarksville Animal Clinic! With 6 years of experience in the veterinary field and a B.S. in animal science from the University of Arkansas, Tatum is dedicated to providing optimal care for every animal that comes through our doors. Tatum’s passion for surgery, especially dentals, shines through in her work. Currently enrolled with Penn Foster to obtain a veterinary technician certification, Tatum’s expertise and attention to detail make her an invaluable member of our team.

Outside of work, Tatum enjoys relaxing at home with her two dogs, Lucy and Kal, and their two cats, Britta and Bing Bong. Together with her husband, they create a loving environment filled with laughter. We’re incredibly lucky to have Tatum as part of our team at Clarksville Animal Clinic.

Lesley

Meet Lesley, one of our caring and compassionate Assistants! Born and raised in Clarksville, TN, Lesley has dedicated 5 incredible years as a vet-tech, constantly seeking to expand her knowledge in the veterinary field. Growing up on a farm in the country, Lesley’s deep love for animals has always been evident. Alongside her loving husband Anthony, she’s the proud parent of four adorable fur babies: Oliver, the charming dachshund/corgi mix, and her three lovely cats – Jaxson, Daniel, and Baby Spice. When Lesley isn’t passionately caring for animals, she enjoys reading, hiking, exploring new culinary delights, and cherishing moments with her cherished friends and family. Her unwavering commitment to being the voice for the voiceless is truly inspiring

Natalia

Assistant

Natalia is a valued member of the Clarksville Animal Clinic team, known for her calm demeanor, quick thinking, and genuine love for animals of all kinds. She has a particular passion for exotic pets, especially reptiles, spiders, and small mammals, and enjoys continuing to learn more about their unique care needs. At home, Natalia is a proud cat mom and shares her space with a few bunnies and her favorite scaly and eight-legged companions. Her dedication, curiosity, and attention to detail make her an incredible asset to our team, and we’re lucky to have her supporting both our patients and clients every day!

Abigail

Introducing Abigail, our wonderful Assistant in Training at Clarksville Animal Clinic!A true animal lover born and raised in Clarksville, Abigail’s dedication to caring for pets shines through in her work every day. With a background from Paragon Pet School of Grooming, she brings both expertise and compassion to our furry friends. Now training to become a veterinary assistant, Abigail is excited to continue learning and growing within the field she loves. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, baking tasty treats, and cherishing moments with her loved ones. At home, she shares her life with her caring boyfriend and their three beloved pets: Ruby and River, the dogs, and Minx, the cat. Her genuine passion for helping animals makes her an invaluable part of our team.

Completely self-taught, her passion and creativity breathe life into every post, helping us connect with our community in a meaningful way. At home, Savannah spends her time with her two charming cats, Ivy Moon and Velma Rose. She’s a lover of all things spooky, often found curled up with a good book, diving into a horror movie, or listening to her favorite music. When she’s not indulging her creative side, she enjoys sharing laughs and making memories with her friends. Savannah’s unique style, love for storytelling, and dedication make her an irreplaceable part of the Clarksville Animal Clinic team. We’re so lucky to have her bringing our story to life!

Meet Ma’cayla – One of Our Awesome Receptionists! Originally from Florida, Ma’cayla has become a wonderful addition to the Clarksville Animal Clinic team. With nearly a year of experience in veterinary medicine, she’s quickly grown into her role, showing dedication, compassion, and a true love for helping pets and their people. Ma’cayla’s heart belongs to her sweet pup, Kylo, who always keeps her smiling. Outside of work, she enjoys relaxing at home, spending time with loved ones, and enjoying the simple things in life. We’re so happy to have her as part of our clinic family and love the positivity she brings to our team!

Laia

Greeter

Meet Laia, our friendly and enthusiastic Greeter!
Laia brings warmth and energy to every client interaction here at Clarksville Animal Clinic. Though she grew up in the Clarksville/Kentucky area, her heart holds strong Louisiana roots. From a young age, she has been surrounded by animals—caring for a variety of pets at home and pet-sitting for friends and neighbors. Currently studying to become a veterinary technician, Laia has always dreamed of being part of a veterinary clinic. Her favorite part of the job is the welcoming, supportive team she gets to work with every day. As a greeter, she helps check in clients, records pet weights, and makes sure everyone feels comfortable and cared for during their visit. When she’s not at the clinic, Laia enjoys playing softball, working out, diving into video games, and spending quality time with her own pets. She’s excited to grow in her role and looks forward to meeting all the wonderful pets and pet parents who walk through our doors!

Katlyn

Kennel Assistant

Meet Katlyn – Our Wonderful Kennel Assistant!
Originally from Illinois, Katlyn joined the Clarksville Animal Clinic team in 2024 after moving from Missouri. Her lifelong love for animals, including dogs, cats, birds, and small pets, made her a perfect fit for our clinic family. Katlyn helps keep our furry guests happy and cared for by feeding, grooming, and making sure their spaces are clean and comfy. She loves how supportive and dedicated the CAC team is and feels right at home here! Outside of work, Katlyn enjoys relaxing with her husband and their two dogs—Hank the Jack Russell and Yoshi the Shiba Inu. She also loves drawing, being outdoors, and listening to music. We’re so excited to have her on board!
